When our representatives are making important
decisions that impact all of our lives I believe it is important to ask
one basic question before making
those decisions, Is this good for
the children? Just imagine what our world would be
like if that question was asked prior to making decisions about going to
war, the environment, education or healthcare.

1. Commentary by Elaine B. Holtz: This
is the last show of 2024. Wow
what a year it has been for all
of us.
Joining me on the phone today is
one of my favorite people in the
entire world, Sherry Glaser.
Sherry Mama's First Pocket
Chicktionary, which she wrote
with Kym Trippsmith. Sherry is
joining me today to talk about
her life, her career, this
amazing book and will do a Tarot
reading for the upcoming year.
What I find so amazing about it
is the creativity involved and
the humor she possesses.
Special Happy Kwanza which
started on December 26 and will
last to January 1.
Shout out to my beautiful
daughter Susan and her handsome
husband David, 35 years married.
They are driving down today with
my granddaughter Katelyn Beverly
and her husband Trevor Elliot,
my new grandson, married almost
3 months, driving down to watch
the 49ers and the Detroit lions
playoff.
2.
Our
Guest, Sherry Glaser,
shares highlights of her
multifaceted journey as a
performer, tarot reader, and
spiritual guide, blending
personal transformation with art
and healing. Glaser, a
self-described 64-year-old
"Pagan Jew" from New York,
discusses channeling trauma into
comedic and theatrical one-woman
shows like Family Secret and Oh
My Goddess. She reflects on her
astrological makeup (double
Gemini with a Scorpio moon) and
a deep spiritual connection to
Earth, astrology, and tarot.
Shery Glaser describes tarot as
an introspective tool grounded
in elemental wisdom (earth,
water, fire, air), offering
validation and guidance through
its Minor and Major Arcana. She
emphasizes tarot's
transformative power in
navigating life’s complexities,
a practice She began in the late
1970s and evolved into a
professional calling. Elaine
noted tarot’s parallels with
radio work in fostering
understanding and healing.
Sherry gives a live tarot
reading:
The
past, symbolized by the
Temperance card,
reflects patience, balance,
and resilience amidst
challenges
The
present’s 8 of Wands
encourages managing pain to
harness energy and purpose.
The
future, depicted by the
4 of Wands, highlights
fleeting joy and grounding
through communal and
spiritual connections.
The discussion concludes with
Sherry Glaser promoting her
book co-authored with Kym
Trippsmith, Mama’s First Pocket
Chicktioney, which reclaims
feminine energy through the
spell of language. She
encourages us to embrace humor,
resilience, and joy, inviting
listeners to connect with her
via her website or social media.
The dialogue blends
spirituality, personal growth,
and creative empowerment.
