When our representatives are making important
decisions that impact all of our lives I believe it is important to ask
one basic question before making
those decisions, Is this good for
the children? Just imagine what our world would be
like if that question was asked prior to making decisions about going to
war, the environment, education or healthcare.

1. Commentary by Elaine B. Holtz: Joining
me on the phone today is one of
my favorite people in the entire
world, Sherry Glaser. Sherry is
a feminist, a comedian, an actor
and co-author of the book,
Mama's First Pocket Chicktionary,
which she wrote with Kym
Trippsmith. Sherry is joining me
today to talk about her life,
her career, and this amazing
book. What I find so amazing
about it is the creativity
involved and the humor.
Save the date for the California
NOW Convention on August 10th in
Santa Rosa. See the
Announcements below for more
details.
2. Our
Guest, Sherry Glaser
explains her journey started in
college with improvisation,
driven by her natural gift and
optimism. She attributes her
confidence to her late husband,
Greg Howell, who inspired her to
perform solo. The guest
discusses the importance of
humor in connecting with people
and promoting peace.
When asked about the character
"Ma" from "Oh My Goddess,"
Sherry responds that Ma
represents the Great Earth
Mother. Ma emphasizes the
importance of the feminine in
creation and criticizes the
current state of the world,
particularly war and
environmental destruction. Ma
would advocate for using words
instead of violence and
highlights the absurdity of war,
urging people to respect and
care for Mother Earth.
Sherry introduces another
character from Oh My Goddess,
Miguel, who she created to
challenge stereotypes and honor
the hardworking farmworkers she
encountered in San Diego.
Miguel, who humorously runs for
president with the "Surprise
Party," aims to solve societal
issues with a fresh perspective.
He humorously proposes removing
the word "pursuit" from "life,
liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness" to reduce stress and
refocus on actual happiness.
The conversation shifts to the
Sherry's book, Mama's First
Chicktionary, co-written
with Kym Trippsmith. The book
redefines words to reflect
feminine perspectives, such as
changing "menstruation" to
"moon-steration" and "daughter"
to "dwater." This redefinition
aims to resonate more with the
feminine experience and
challenge male-dominated
language.
Sherry also shares her
experience as a tarot reader, a
practice she deepened during the
pandemic. She finds tarot
readings helpful for balancing
one's elements (earth, water,
fire, air) and providing
immediate insights without
lengthy therapy sessions. She
discusses the therapeutic value
of comedy and humor in dealing
with life's challenges.
Finally, the Sherry Glaser pulls
a tarot card, "The World," in
response to a question about
what women can do for peace. The
card suggests feeling the depth
of the world's pain and
suffering, expressing emotions,
and loving the Earth. It
emphasizes the importance of
emotional reactions and looking
up at the stars to gain
perspective.
About our Guest: Sherry
Glaser is the
award-winning
star
and author of the
longest-running one-woman show
in Off-Broadway history FAMILY
SECRETS. Her other solo works
include Oh My Goddess!,Taking The High Road
and The Adventures Of Super
Activist Mother. Sherry is
a published author, radio host
and radical political activist
best known for her Breasts
Not Bombs movement. Sherry
lives in Sonoma County and is
presently teaching Improvisation
in a series called, Playing The
Game Of Life.
She is also producing and
developing a theatrical series
for women’s monologues called
HERSTORY IN THE MAKING; She’s
got a Big Mouth. Find out more

Sherry has added to her mystical
skills, Tarot Reader and we will
be doing a reading about what is
happening here in the USA to our
freedoms and how women are being
impacted and a solution.
Sherry Glaser is co-author with
Kym Trippsmith of Mama's
First Pocket Chicktionary- Taking the Dick out of
Dictionary. The photoabove is from Sherry's
