When our representatives are making important
decisions that impact all of our lives I believe it is important to ask
one basic question before making
those decisions, Is this good for
the children? Just imagine what our world would be
like if that question was asked prior to making decisions about going to
war, the environment, education or healthcare.

1. Commentary by Elaine B. Holtz:
I have a special guest this
morning. Joining me in the
studio is Janice Campbell, ,
Certified Unity Teachers and
author of Receive Your Life
program a simple, honest,
compassionate transformational
system, CPA and Certified
Financial Planner. Janet has an
inspiring message to help us all
center ourselves in these
challenging times.
Today is a very special day for
Ken and I, its our 24th
Anniversary as loving partners.
We are going to read a special
poem I wrote for Ken and I
called, “Friends and Lovers.” We
traditionally read this on
Valentines Day but since our
anniversary is celebrated on the
first show of the Month in April
we thought it would be fun to
read it on todays show. Yes
folks, we are two fools in love.
The poem addresses the
relationship experience,
especially its beginnings.
Happy Easter to everyone. I just
finished reading a Unity Booklet
for Lent. This years theme was
Letting Go. Each day for 40 days
I read ideas on how to Let Go of
negative thinking. It was an
amazing experience for me and I
feel a lot lighter as a result
of doing this exercise.
----
2.
Friends and Lovers
- poem of Elaine B. Holtz, who
reads it with her partner Ken Norton.
We have been reading this poem
around Valentine's Day, but this
year our anniversary falls on a
Monday, so we read it today on
our anniversary.

3.Our
Guest, Janice Campbell,
shares her journey from her
childhood raised as a Lutheran
Christian to discovering a New
Thought religious community. She
appreciated the emphasis on God
being goodness in everything,
with the spiritual principles
more important than the teacher
of those principles. New
Thought, beginning in the 19th
century, is not to be confused
with New Age that appeared in
the 1970s.
The presence of God is in all,
never to be separated, says
Janice. During struggles in
life, we often forget that we
are connected to our true being.
Most people have been taught
their inner goodness but try to
find it from others, which can
mislead us thinking our inner
goodness is out there, separate
from us, to somehow be restored
to us. This leads to duality
thinking. Our being born into
this world exposes us to the
needs of survival, and the lack
of necessary resources is met in
various moments. How our parents
make their way in life while
supporting us as children
impresses upon our minds of
certain ways to overcome lack.
As adults we make our own way
but are often trapped in
traditional ways. We may
conclude at times that we are
less than who we truly are,
which is never separate from
God.
Janice encourages us to find the
gift that shame brings.
Oftentimes, one does not feel
safe to be who we truly are,
through conditioning of our
parents, teachers, and peers. We
then busy ourselves with
collecting evidence that proves
how lacking we are and then deny
loving who we truly are. We are
ashamed of ourselves. In our
inner journey to move toward
expressing our true self of
love, we come to understand how
past experiences and desires
diminished us. With compassion
and forgiveness, we give up
misunderstandings of our true
self.
Janice emphasizes in her
“Receive Your Life” manual, that
it is not by doing to get
better, but by realizing we are
each an individualized
expression of Spirit. A past
personal belief may block this
for awhile until the courage is
reached to realize the goodness
and love we truly are cannot to
be measured against others. Our
essential wholeness is not
broken, despite the culture
trying to define you. Self-worth
is loving the essence of who we
are.
With the spiritual understanding
of our true self, we can then
discern when our false self
rises in protest. Janice
includes a push-pull exercise in
her manual as a technique to
discern our way true to our
self, and release our inner
goodness and splendor, for which
we have been created. We ask for
those desires that are fitting
to our true self of love and
goodness and receive the
intuition that guides their
manifestation and release them
to the world.

report by Ken Norton,
Co-Producer, Women's Spaces
About our Guest: Janice
Campbell
is a licensed Unity
teacher and has been a spiritual
counselor and teacher for the
past 35 years. She began working
professionally as a CPA and
Certified Financial Planner in
1980. In 1987 she discovered New
Thought teachings. They
resonated with what she always
knew to be true - the importance
of our relationship with Source
and the goodness of people.
After attending numerous human
development courses where she
felt she had to turn into
someone she wasn’t to be
successful and then being
involved in spiritual
communities where the teachings
at times felt vague and general
she wanted to create something
that was practical and very
individualized to each person.
That was the beginning of the
Receive Your Life program a
simple, honest, compassionate
transformational system.
Janice collaborates intimately
with people to resolve their
inner conflicts. These soul
conversations can go anywhere a
person wants to go whether that
is working through a difficult
decision, relationship issues,
money concerns, career
direction, health, or parenting
issues.
