When our representatives are making important
decisions that impact all of our lives I believe it is important to ask
one basic question before making
those decisions, Is this good for
the children? Just imagine what our world would be
like if that question was asked prior to making decisions about going to
war, the environment, education or healthcare.

1. Commentary by Elaine B. Holtz:
Joining me in the studio is
Vesta Copestakes, who describes
herself as a happily retired
artist and community activist.
For today’s show we will be
talking about a special
Peace Tree that she was
involved with, ideas on how to
achieve peace and a bit of a
discussion on the Age of
Aquarius. For me this is an
inspired last show of the year.
Vesta and I have had great
conversations and I thought
bring it on the air and here we
are.
When Vesta told me about the
Peace Tree and thought of the
situation in today’s world I
thought of a conversation about
Peace and some ideas on how to
achieve Peace, the idea for this
show evolved.
On December 21, 2021, we entered
the Age of Aquarius.
We will also explore the impact
that is having on us and the
predictions that were given, for
example.
The definition of Peace is
freedom from disturbance;
tranquility and a state or
period in which there is no war,
or a war has ended. I know it
will be a great conversation and
hope to hear comments from
listeners. Likes and comments
are appreciated. Makes me know I
am doing something worth
listening to. Besides we all
like to be appreciated.
Condolences to the family and
friends of Delashay
Carmona-Benson. Delashay was a
friend and fellow activist. She
was a returning student at the
SRJC, mother, grandmother,
friend, and a powerful activist.
She did a lot for our youth and
encouraged and inspired many.
She was not afraid to speak her
truth and sometimes was
hurtfully criticized but she
persisted and did what needed to
be done and change happened.
Rest in peace my dear friend,
you achieved a lot in this
lifetime.
Guess what, this is the last
show of the year. Wow, Ken, we
did it! And I thank you for all
your loving support and sharing
of your talents. So, we are
going to recite the Women’s
Spaces Pledge.

2. Our
Guest, Vesta Copestakes
describes the Peace Tree
project at the
Occidental Arts and Ecology
Center, at which artists created
ornaments with the theme of
Peace. The times of when the
musical Hair was produced
included the Boomer generation
and their protests of the
Vietnam War, for which so many
young men were drafted. It was
the first televised war, and
Vesta attributes this publicity
to the rise in empathy for those
suffering the consequences of
war. Today we have instant
recordings on smart phones from
the scene of battles in the
Ukraine and in the Middle East
in Gaza. Vesta commented that
most of the holiday cards that
she has received are with the
theme of Peace. Vesta reads a
statement of our local
astrologer Rio Olesky of
starwatcher.com on our entering
the Aquarian Age,
in which we will attain world
peace through inner peace
consciousness of individuals.
Peace brings about
solution-minded thinking of kind
acts, of which good examples are
Doctors Without Borders and the
Redwood Empire Food Bank.
About our Guest: Vesta
Copestakes
is a happily retired
artist and community activist.
She is fulfilling her retirement
dream of being the artist,
musician, and writer she was
when she was fifteen before she
had to make a living. Picking up
roadside trash, experimenting
with art and building projects,
volunteering wherever her heart
leads her, gardening, spending
time with people and she loves,
taking care of cats…she calls
her new life “untethered.” She
does whatever she wants to do
when she wants to do it - a
dream so many of us have… “If it
feels good and accomplishes
good, it’s worth doing.”
Our history is our strength. Check out important dates to remember in herstory at the
