1. Theresa Rodriquez, the lead bilingual Verity case worker for victims, discusses human trafficking in the North Bay. Verity works together with the Human Trafficking Taskforce with include the county district attorneys, law enforcement and social services agencies. If the victim is under the age of eighteen years old, multiple agencies respond. Besides offering Safety, Compassion and Support for victims Verity has a 24-hour Crisis Hotline and a mission to educate the community on the reality of the Human Trafficking problem, encouraging parents to talk to their children on the dangers. Immigrants and undocumented residents are the most vulnerable in being exploited by human traffickers. Volunteers are given background checks and 40 hours of training before they are certified in volunteering for taking calls on the 24-hour hotline. All interactions with Verity are confidential.

About our Guest: Teresa Rodriguez is the lead bi-lingual Human Trafficking Victim Caseworker and helps coordinate the Human Trafficking Program for Verity in Sonoma County. Theresa joined Verity in 2018. Verity serves people of who have been affected by sexual violence. Her passion is to help the most vulnerable community and underprivileged population. Growing up in Sonoma County she received her formal education from local schools and received an AA degree in Liberal Arts from Santa Rosa Junior College. Bachelor's from Sonoma State University in Psychology.

February 4, 1913 (2005) – Rosa Parks, “Mother of the Civil Rights Movement.” Her arrest after refusing to give up her seat on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama, sparked a boycott of the bus system, which eventually led to the Supreme Court decision to integrate buses.

February 3, 1874 (1946) – Gertrude Stein, poet, author, art critic, famous for her phrase, “A rose is a rose is a rose is a rose.”

February 4, 1921 (2006) – Betty Friedan, author, and activist, wrote The Feminine Mystique (1963), cofounded the National Organization for Women (NOW) in 1966
